Some Information on Meta Tags

Want to get a top ranking in search engines? No problem! All you need to do is add a few magical "meta tags" to your web pages, and you'll skyrocket to the top of the listings.

If only it were so easy. Let's make it clear:

Meta tags are not a magic solution.
Meta tags are not a magic bullet.
There is no such thing as a meta tags silver bullet that kills all competition for the SERP Rank!
Meta tags are not a magic solution.

That being clear, why did we start with the keywords? (That is a very real meta tag!)

Over 80% of all online proceedings start with a search query. You browse to a search engine and you will fill out certain keywords that match what you are looking for. That's why it's so important to put relevant and correct keywords in your meta tags in the source of your webpage.

By organizing your thoughts, and your webpage, with the help and guidance of the meta tags, it will help search engines to index what you have on your webpage and also give the crawlers a little hint as to where you are going! Consider these...

Title (Not actually a meta tag, but in the HEAD section with them).
Meta Description
Meta Keywords
The Above Three are provided on each Gamot Interface page.
There are many other meta tags that you may choose to add to your site pages also.

Tags we have already added for your whole website:

Tags you should edit for each page:
<title>The Title Tag must contain no more than 70 characters</title>
<meta name="description" content="The Description Tag can have up to 150 characters (generally, 200 to 250 characters may be indexed, though only a smaller portion of this amount may be displayed).">
<meta name="keywords" content="In the Keyword tag use everything you think someone will search for to find your site. Use 200 characters.">

Tags up may add in the header section in the site settings for your whole site. EDIT FIRST!
<meta name="author" content="The Author Tag is for the person who wrote the material for the site.">
<meta name="subject" content="The Subject Tag is for what your site is. Business, music, hobby, cars. Use up to 100 characters.">
<meta name="classification" content="The Classification tag is similar to description but more in detail.">
<meta name="geography" content="Where are you located? Full Address">
<meta name="copyright" content="Who is the Owner of the site, Company Name">
<meta name="designer" content="Webmaster name">
<meta name="publisher" content="Owner, Webmaster, Company Names.">
<meta name="city" content="Your City, Town">
<meta name="country" content="Your Country, use all names; USA, United States, United States Of America, America, etc.">
